Personal Phone Gateway - Advanced options

Overview

In advanced options you will be able to setup accounts for specific users and enable your Personal Phone Gateway to place long distance calls.

VERY IMPORTANT note about numbers

If you gateway is not correctly configured, calls can be placed to expensive numbers such as 1-900 and international calls.

TIGERJET ASSUMES NO LIABILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR ANY CHARGES INCURRED.

Please, please check that your gateway is configured as you intended by placing test calls.


Opening Personal Phone Gateway Manager

To adjust your advanced options, right click on the Star icon in your tray.

The Personal Phone Gateway Manager dialog box enables you to access the advanced options for your Personal Phone Gateway

Accounts

Create user accounts with passwords.

Configuration

Enables you to set which numbers can be dialed.

 Account Manager

You can setup your users with accounts, this enables you to track and control the amount of phone time that is used.

To add a user click on the Add button.

To modify a user, highlight their name and click modify.

To delete a user, highlight their name and click delete.

You can disable a user without having to delete all of their settings.

Time management

You can either allow unlimited time or specify the time allowed in seconds.

When a user uses their time allocation the displayed time will be reduced.

Configuration

The Personal Phone Gateway Manager enables you to adjust which numbers can be called through your gateway.

Enable gateway

You can take you gateway off-line without changing any settings.

 

Description

What will be displayed on the buddy list

 

Area code

Area code of the phone line that is connected to your gateway

 

Access an outside line

If you need to dial a number first, enter it here, a “,” after the number will add a short delay and is recommended.

 

Support webpage

Support page for your gateway’s users.

 

Comment

Displayed by IP Phone Center when a call is placed, use for gateway information.
 

Require user name and password
You will need to set accounts up to use this feature.

 

Number format

1408???????   Any number in the 1-408 area code.

15101231234   This specific number (1 510 123 1234) is defined.

1408778????   Numbers with the 778 prefix in the 1-408 area code.

 

Notes;
For numbers in the same area code as the gateway, you can omit the area code in the number specification.

Each “?” corresponds to a digit in the number.

 

Allowed numbers

These are numbers that can be called through your gateway.

This gateway is located in the 408 area code, so valid numbers are with the 778 and 437 prefix in the 408 area.
 
When you click Add a dialog box enables you to enter a number.
   

Extension numbers

If you have enabled the option to dial a number before placing an outside call, you have the option to specify extension numbers.


This is useful when you connect your gateway to your company phone system, users can place calls for free within your phone system from anywhere there is an Internet connection.

 

Not allowed phone numbers

These are numbers that you do not want users to call, such as 411, 911 etc
 

Unlimited phone numbers

These are numbers that do not have any time restrictions, this is useful for call to 1-800 numbers or local calls that are free.

Notes;
1. An unlimited number must be on the allowed numbers list.

2. An “unlimited” call will automatically disconnect after 2 hours.
