Installing your TigerJet ISDN modem under Windows 2000 /XP

The Tiger Jet driver is on the Microsoft Windows 2000/XP CD. The installation procedure is described below.

Plug your TigerJet modem into an available PCI slot in your system.

Switch your system on.

Windows will detect your modem

Select the ISDN switch type that you will be calling.

Do not use automatic

Enter the Phone number and SPID for the first ISDN channel.

SPIDS are very important, usually your SPID is your ISDN phone number with between 2 and 4 digits added to the end (depending on the phone company).

For example (in this case), the SPID for 4084418319 will be 40844183190101.

Enter the phone number AND the additional digits without any spaces.

Enter the Phone number and SPID for the second ISDN channel.
To confirm that your ISDN modem has been successfully installed, open device manager and expand Network adaptors.

If there is a problem you will see a yellow or red "!" next to the device.

The next stage is to set up a connection to your ISP

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Communications > Network and Dial-up Connections.
Click "Make New Connection"
Enter your location information.
Select your location.
The Network connection Wizard will start.
Check "Dial-up to the Internet".
Select "I want to . . . "
Choose "Tiger Jet . . . " as the modem.
Select "I connect through a phone line . . . "
Choose "Tiger Jet . . . "
Enter your ISP's phone number
Enter your ISP User name and Password
Choose a name for the connection
You will now have a new icon with the name that you choose for the connection.
To adjust the connection settings, right click on the icon and select "Properties".
Note that only one channel is selected. The connection speed will be 64K.
For 128K operation, select the second channel.

Most ISPs will require that you dial the same number. So check the box labeled "All devices call the same number".

Your modem installation and ISP setup is now complete

To connect to your ISP, right click on the name of the connection and select "Connect".

To change SPID or phone number settings

Bring up Device Manager.

Right click on "Tiger Jet . . . "

Click on "Properties"

Select the channel that you want to modify.

Click OK to finish.

Notes

SPIDS are very important, usually your SPID is your ISDN phone number with between 2 and 4 digits added to the end (depending on the phone company). For example, the SPID for 4084418319 will be 4084418319xxxx. Enter the phone number AND the additional digits without any spaces.

An ISDN phone line has two 64K channels, each has a phone number and a SPID.

If you have a connection issue, please check your SPIDS first. Incorrectly entered SPIDs are about 50% of our technical support calls.
